Nic Humphries
Nic is the Senior Partner and Executive Chair of Hg, Europe’s most active technology investor, with ultimate responsibility for Hg’s strategy, management and governance. For over 30 years, Nic has built a specialism in software and technology investing. We’re leaning on Nic’s insight to inform smart investment decisions and identify opportunities to drive growth for portfolio companies.
Nic started his private equity career in 1990 at 3i, and subsequently worked at Geocapital and Barclays Private Equity. He joined Hg in 2001 as the Founder of the software team and has since built Hg’s niche within software and helped to make it a market leader. He has led or co-led over 30 large-scale investments, including IRIS, Visma, The Foundry, Addison, Geneva Technology, Rolfe&Nolan, Sovos, Teamsystem and Xyratex. Nic is currently a Non-Exec Director for several technology businesses, including Argus Media, Benevity, Insightsoftware, IRIS and Visma.
Nic has a BEng in Electrical Engineering from Salford University.
